belongs to the nutmeg family. The tree can reach a size of up to 18 meters. However, the pulp is not used here but the core. Evidence of origin refers to the areas around India.

Nutmeg

After harvesting, nutmeg is generally processed into essential oils, butter and powder. Nutmeg oil and butter are processed in the kitchen. Because of the volatilizing ingredients the nut is mainly freshly grated and added to the food. In traditional African medicine nutmeg is used against both infectious diseases and diarrhea. In the Indian Unani medicine they are taken against male erectile dysfunction.
